Houston Ballet Center for Dance--Topping Off Ceremony

On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, Houston Ballet marked a major milestone in the construction its new $53 million home, the Center for Dance, in the heart of Houstons Theater District, across from Wortham Theater Center. Houston Ballet board, dancers, staff and donors gathered to celebrate as the final 30 foot steel beam was placed on the west side of the 115000-square-foot, six-story facility just eight months after breaking ground in July 2009. Construction on the Center for Dance will be completed in the spring of 2011, and it will become largest professional dance company facility in the United States.
